Step 1: Fill out the Application
To begin the enrollment process for your child, please complete the CANDIDATE APPLICATION. Once the application is completed, you will be contacted to set up a Candidate Interview.
Step 2: Attend Open Enrollment Session
The applicant and a guardian attend a mandatory Open Enrollment Session. During this session, the applicant and the parent will be made aware of the requirements of being in the program. This session usually takes place in late August, but there may be another opportunity in January. Without attending this session, a child WILL NOT be considered for membership.
Step 3: Induction
At the end of the club year (June), prospects who complete the requirements will participate in the Distinguished Gentlemen's Club Induction Ceremony. During this ceremony, the candidate will be introduced as an official member of the Distinguished Gentlemen's Club. They will receive their club regalia (tie and DGC polo shirt) and recite the Gentleman's Creed along with fellow inductees.
After induction, they are now official "Gentlemen" and are qualified for the DGC E-Board, as well as retreats and DGC Awards.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee to be a part of this program?
Yes, there is a non-refundable Commitment Fee of $100 per child, per year. This payment is required by the end of the first month of the active semester. These funds go directly into the LYS Program Finances.
Is my child guaranteed to be accepted as an applicant?
No. Each child is subject to rejection from the program if the child isn't willing to participate actively. There is a cap on the number of applicants we can accept, and therefore, we must make sure that the accepted applicants are taking the program seriously.
