Where our vision is that “Every Child Wins”.
Here at Lowcountry Youth Services, we offer several programs that provide Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester county youth with the tools they need to succeed in every area of their lives. Life is challenging at times, and for some children, it’s more challenging than normal. Our 1-on-1, group mentoring, and youth development programs address these needs, and our programs are intentional about providing positive role models and teaching children various life, social, and problem-solving skills.
Our programs are available to young people from all ethnic, social, and economic backgrounds. It doesn’t matter if a child is a straight-A student who happens to be distracted by a traumatic situation at home or a child who has been charged with multiple juvenile offenses, and labeled “high-risk”.

Group Mentoring and Youth Development Programs
Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club

Learn moreDGC has helped my son with manners, helping maintain personal hygiene, starting to think about the future of what he wants to do, helped him learn time management skills & most importantly become the young man he is today.
We realized that raising 2 sons in today's world was more than we could handle on our own. When we heard about The Distinguished Gentlemen's Club, we knew this would be a great opportunity to have some Positive Male Role Models for our sons and to have these Mentors come alongside us in giving our son's the guidance they need to have a bright future.
I have had the privilege of witnessing the positive change Perry and his programs have made, and continue to make in the lives of our young people. I cannot count the number of stories my wife ( a retired Berkeley County School teacher) and daughters (current Berkeley County School teachers) relayed to me about the changes they witnessed in what were troubled young men after they became involved with Officer Perry
Since Joshua has been in DGC, we have seen a tremendous change in him. He thinks before acting. He takes pride in his grades and his appearance. His grades have gone from failing to As and Bs.
Ricardo Perry enthusiasm and tireless commitment to improving the lives of our young men speaks volumes.
Ricardo Perry has been more than just a mentor and role model. He is a constant stable figure that we all look forward to in life. He is the driving force behind most good decisions that we make. Without him there would be no foundation or backbone for the organization to grow from.
It’s a great pleasure the joy my son receives having a mentor he can talk to about anything and enjoys spending all day with. Without this group and the great mentor he has, all I can say is, I'm grateful. DGC was just what my son needed.
“Lowcountry Youth Services is a difference-maker because they use their talents and skills to not only directly serve an area of great importance but inspire others to do so as well. Lowcountry Youth Services sees in young people what in many cases they do not see themselves; talent, skills, value, and an amazing hope and enthusiasm for their future.”
Lowcountry Youth Services is an incredible asset to the City of Hanahan through its work with youth services through their police department. We are fortunate that they have now expanded his reach through the Exchange Program by providing additional mentoring and support services to young males with involvement in the juvenile justice system in Berkeley County.
